Partition of Turkey

PARIS, May 19.

The "Temps" denies that the Peace Conference has actually decided to divide Turkey into several zones. The Big Four, however, considered several proposals, as follows:—

(1) The United States to receive a mandate over Constantinople and Armenia.
(2) Greece to take the coastal region, having Smyrna as the principal centre.
(3) Italy to administer Southern Anatolia.
(4) Northern Anatolia, including Broussa and Angora, to form a Turkish State, whose independence France would undertake to safeguard.
