Armenia's Plight

SINCE THE BRITISH LEFT

NEW YORK, Sept. 30.

A Washington report says the Assistant Secretary of State (Mr. Phillips) informed the Foreign Relations Sub-committee of the Senate that conditions In Armenia have been horrible since the British withdrew. Turks and Tartars threaten the extermination of the Armenians within a short period.

The sub-committee received a cablegram from the American mission in Paris urging the immediate despatch of a regiment of troops to Armenia.
