Armenians Slaughtered

Brutal Turkish General's Deed

It has been reported in Athens that the Turkish general, Osman Agha, has carried out a ghastly series of atrocities upon Christians at Kerasund, a town in Armenia, of 10,000 inhabitants. He shut up a number of males every evening, and led them out at 5 o'clock in the morning to be executed until all had been murdered. Finally the remaining Christians bought their liberty by paying Osman Agha a ransom of £300,000.
