Lucky Armenians

25,000 Escape from Turkish Grip

Mr. George Gracey, a member of the American Mission in Armenia, has successfully conducted an exodus of 25,000 Armenians and 6,000 head of cattle from the Lake Van region.

They covered 150 miles in five days, and safely reached Igdiah, in Russian Transcaucasia.

Only 250 of the party were armed, and they drove off marauding Turkish tribes men, sustaining a few casualties.
