The Armenian Atrocities

FURTHER SHOCKING DETAILS

TURKISH TREACHERY AND CRUELTY

LONDON, March 21.

The Daily News this morning publishes an interesting letter from its special correspondent in Armenia respecting the recent outrages perpetrated by the Turkish troops and Kurds on the Armenian Christians.

He asserts that the Turks secured the greatest number of their victims by the basest treachery. They formed relief camps and offered to provide food for all Armenians who yielded themselves up. When a great multitude had thus been induced to come in, and were assembled together, orders were given that a few hundred should be killed every night, and this was done by squads of Turkish soldiers.

The correspondent adds that the massacres were kept up for ten days. He further states that great trenches had been previously dug by the Turks, so that they would be in readiness for the bodies to be buried in.
