The Armenian Atrocities

FURTHER MASSACRES FORBIDDEN BY THE SULTAN

TURKISH SOLDIERS REFUSE TO OBEY

LONDON, April 17.

The Sultan of Turkey has recently given stringent orders that no further massacres of Christians shall be committed by the Turkish troops in Armenia.

Notwithstanding this edict 100 soldiers escaped from the barracks at Erzeroum, the capital of Armenia, with the intention of murdering Christians.

They were ordered to return, and on their refusing to do so the colonel in command of the men shot 13 of them dead.
