FRESH HORRORS IN ARMENIA

ARMIES OF STARVING WOMEN

NAKED IN THE SNOW

LONDON, Dec.16.

In consequence of the continued ravages and depredations of the Kurds in Armenia an enormous number of Armenian Christians have been driven from their homes and compelled to look for shelter elsewhere.

Thousands of these fugitives, halfnaked and starving, are arriving at all the Black Sea ports.

In the province of Van, where the persecution of the Armenians has been carried out with terrible effect, the condition of the populace is appalling, and the unfortunate inhabitants, whose houses have been destroyed over their heads, are exposed to the full rigours of the winter weather.

Hundreds of widows and young girls are wandering through the snowy streets of the desolate cities in the province of Van, many of the homeless ones being in a state of absolute nudity.

Kurdish bands continue to sack private dwellings in every direction and murder the inmates.
